Hamilton Orchestra Stand with Knob

I love how tall this stand goes! While I like how the knob gives the stand extra strength to hold lots of heavy books without sliding down, it does take two hands to adjust. A comparable version without the knob is this one from Shar. Also love the option of having a separate place to store pencils like this stand.

Nomad Lightweight Fixed Stand with Bag

For travel and easy storage, I use this wire stand. It isn’t great for holding large binders and also doesn’t extend as tall as I would like it to when standing. For something between the two, I would love to have this sturdier travel stand.

Ingles Violin Stand

I love having a safe place to keep my violin while teaching, between practice sessions, or during gigs. It packs down small to make traveling easy. A great place to set your instrument for short periods of time but instruments should still be kept in the case at night and whenever they aren’t being played to better protect it from heat, cold, humidity, and accidents.

Seiko Metronome

I love how easy it is to move from one speed to another. Simple and straight forward. You are able to plug headphones in too. .

Korg Chromatic Tuner

I prefer this type of tuner vs. violin specific tuners that clip onto the instrument. Easy to use and an excellent visual, not only tune your instrument, but also to help while practicing intonation. If you want a tuner and metronome in one, check out this hybrid.

Jade Rosin

I’ve been using this Rosin for years. It’s what my teacher recommended to me and I’ve always loved it.

Dominant Strings

I’ve been using these strings since college. They have a good neutral, strong sound but aren’t as pricy as some brands.

Bonmusica Shoulder Rest

This isn’t a shoulder rest for everyone, but with my longer neck and tension issues, the hight and customization of this have been a game changer for me.

Cleaning Cloths

To clean my strings and wipe rosin off of my instrument, the best thing you can use are microfiber cloths that you would use to clean your car. (But a new one…not one that you used to use for your car!)

Bobelock Hill Style Violin Case

Bobelock has several variants, but I love all of the storage on the one I have. Even my super tall shoulder rest fits inside. It also has ample room for music books on the outside plus a zippered pocket perfect for your tuner. It even has two pencil holders.
